We encourage you to use and test our software and guidance documents, and we welcome you to become a data provider in the network.

Data Provider Cookbooks

We are developing applications that support the OGC Sensor Observation Service (SOS). These reference implementations include cookbooks to help you get an SOS installed easily and quickly on a web server. The following are available:

PERL for SOS 1.0 (ASCII and RDMS sources)
JAVA for OPeNDAP / NetCDF sources
PYTHON for RDBMS sources

Registering and Testing Your Service

Once you have installed your SOS with one of the data-provider cookbooks, you can register the service on the network. You will then become part of the ocean Sensor Web. Your data will start appearing on visualization sites such as OpenIOOS.org, and a community of OOSTethys partners will start testing your service. We encourage you to participate in our community and contact us on one of our project listservs.

If you want to help us improve these services, improve existing cookbooks or add a new cookbook, please send us feedback and participate in our community. We appreciate your help and welcome your involvement!
