Provide support for other various types of marine observations
NOOA IOOS DIF 2008 Data encoding working group proposed feature and variable types
Provide a representation for the marine feature types presented bellow, in O&M and SensorML, to be used in SOS services. The representation should handle single and collection of points.
- Points (Station)
- Vertical Profiles
- Horizontal Profiles
- Trajectories (moving sensors)
And for the following variables:
- Currents
- Water temperature
- Salinity
- Water Level
- Ocean Color
- Winds
- Waves
