September Plug Fest

Motivation

Set aside 2 days to work remotely and coordinated to advance the toolkits and advance the services and tools required to demonstrate the functionality being developed.

Scope

 

 

The functionality that will be advance is as follows:

  • XXX - allows sensor provider to define a SensorML
  • MMI registry - allows data provider to publish their terminology and units
  • MMI registry - allows data provider to map terminology to selected community vocabulary  (e.g. OOSTethys - IOOS core variables)
  • Publishing of SOS service from  PUCK, IEEE 1451 and data turbine
    • PUCK - 1451 TEDS and SensorML documents store in an instrument, automatically retrieved and installed on the sensor network when device is plugged in.
      • easy registration - detection of sensors and data
    • PUCK - makes available SensorML minimum profile
    • XXX - Streams data via data turbine
    • STWS XXX - Streams data via STWS
    • STWS-SOS - Streams STWS via SOS
    • Data turbine -  stream is made available via SOS- wrapper on top of data turbine
  • Registry - Easy registration and unregistration of SOS
    • via web interface
    • programatically
  • Registry - performs testing on SOS that is being registered - responds when registering
  • Registry - maps SOS metadata to ISO 19115 for CSW 
  • Registry - responds to  CSW queries
  • Client - searches the registry for services
  • Client - queries the SOS servers
  • Client - displays the latest location on a map
  • Client - caches time series
  • Client - makes time series available
  • Client - allows user to download data
  • Client - allows user to get notified...
