 Agenda and Minutes

  • Review of agenda
  • Review last meeting minutes - no comments
  • Report by participant
    • Ben Domenico -
    • David Stuebe - developing a connector SOS - ESRI
    • Eric Bridger -
    • Tony Cook - setting up each station is an offering
    • Jeff DLB -need evaluation of schemas / services of NOOA existing SOS services. Need to solve the problem of the result of the observation this year.

    • Luis B - Submitted paper about Ocean Observing System model used in OOSTethys. Worked on fixing bugs in  the SOS JAVA client.
    • Tom - Eric D. Making progress refining IEEE 1451. 2 for ocean system. Will see more news in the coming weeks. Compusult will provide and SOS on the Smart Bay that uses SensorML and extracts this information via PUCK

  • Discussion
    • Collection of stations - need better guidance about how to set this up when we have a big number of stations. Similar problem occurs in other OGC services. Some numbers:
      • NDBC (SOS) is  800 KB - 559 stations offerings
      • METAR (SOS TAMU) 12 M - 8000 stations
    • Catalog front end for OGC Services. Ben will ask Carl about it.
    • AGU Fall Abstract - deadline September 3
      • Maybe do a presentation about what is there and gaps towards successful interoperability
    • Discuss plan and participation (OpenIOOS, Northrup Gruman, NOAA ?) at the prototype demo  (PUCK, SWE ...)  at the November MARTECH meeting in Barcelona.
      • Reproduce what was done in Canada. reuse SOS NG, client from OOSTethys and Kangs Lee 1451.
      • Luis - will start discussion about the client functionality
      • Tom - Ping Scott about participating.
    • Sensorpedia: OOStethys  forwarding services to sensorpedia with an OOSTethys tag- will discuss this next week.
    • Do we need to discuss clients support for SOS, GML.. SWECommon, etc...
      • Dave Stuebe (ASA) developing a connector SOS - ESRI with Roy Me
      • OWS Lib - Python client libraries includes WMS, WCS, WFS. We should look at this.
      • UAH working binary version - if someone has questions send email to Tony - Tony will check how it behaves with the SOS service registered at OOSTethys.
