Plug and Work Sensors demonstration at OOI Workshop

SCOOP/OOSTethys will participate in a end-to-end sensor demo at a OOI workshop.

SCOOP/OOSTethys members, Eric Bridger ( GoMOOS) and Luis Bermudez(SURA) are participating in a demonstration of plug and work sensor capabilities, to be presented by the Tom O'Reilly form the  Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) at the OOI Sensor Workshop: "Instrumentation Needs and Readiness Levels for Ocean Observing: Workshop 1 - Sensors" on March 12-13 2009, Portland, OR.

Instruments will be plugged in to a Global Earth Observing Systems of Systems registry. The OOSTethys aggregator, OPeNIOOS will  discover these services, display the location of the instruments on the map and plot a time series. This could happen because we are levering standard such as OGC Sensor Observation Services (SOS) standards, IEEE1451 and PUCK.
