File Semantic Sensor Web for Oceans
Talk given at the ESIP federation meeting January 07, 2009. OOSTethys is a community of software developers and marine scientists who develop open source tools to integrate ocean observing systems. OOSTethys goal is to dramatically reduce the time it takes to install, adopt and update standards-compliant Web services. Working within the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) umbrella, OOSTethys participants initiated the Ocean Science Interoperability experiment to develop best practices for publishing Sensor Observation Services in the Oceans domain. One of the OOSTethys participants, the Marine Metadata Interoperability (MMI) is providing semantic web services, that in conjunction with OOSTethys semantically annotated SOS services, allows to build a Semantic Sensor Web for Oceans.
